Jordan Brand has always stood at the intersection of performance and culture, and for the 35th anniversary of the Air Jordan 5, Awake NY steps in to tell its own story. The collaboration reimagines Tinker Hatfield’s 1990 design through the lens of New York City, a place where style, edge, and cultural influence move across all boroughs.

The sneaker holds onto the AJ5’s iconic DNA with its jagged midsole, bump-out collar, and clear vented panels, while a premium black leather upper sharpens the silhouette. Pops of Racer Blue inject a bold energy, striking a balance between timeless and contemporary.

Awake NY’s imprint can be found in the details. A co-branded Racer Blue logo stands out against the Metallic Silver tongue and reveals again through the translucent outsole. The brand’s signature “A” logo is subtly built into the vented side panels, while the right sneaker replaces MJ’s classic “23” with “NY,” leaving the left shoe true to the original. Clear lace locks, classic Nike Air heel branding, visible cushioning, and special packaging complete a design that feels both familiar and entirely fresh.

LIVE IN-STORE RAFFLE for the Air Jordan 5 Retro x AWAKE NY will take place at our Cape Town store on Saturday, 30th August 2025.

Terms and Conditions:

- A limited number of raffle tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis at 8:30 AM, and the raffle will begin at 8:45 AM.

- No camping is allowed. Line-up starts at 8:00 AM - TO BE ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE A RAFFLE TICKET, YOU MUST BE WEARING A PAIR OF RETRO JORDANS.

- Limited to one pair per customer in-store.

- If your number is selected, only the raffle ticket holder will be permitted to enter the store.

- No refunds or exchanges will be accepted for this release.
