Few shoes echo the streets of South Africa like the Grasshopper moccasin. It's more than just leather and stitching — it’s heritage, movement, and soul. For decades, this icon has marched through generations, becoming a symbol of culture, comfort, and community. Now, Lemkus brings that rhythm back into focus with special makeups of the Grasshopper in two exclusive colourways: “Black/Moss” and “Tobacco/Wheat.”

To bring this story to life, we tapped Muneeb Hermans, Cape Town-born trumpeter.
His journey started with the Cape Minstrels and has since taken him across the globe — from France to the US — performing at international jazz festivals and collaborating with legends like Caiphus Semenya, Buddy Wells, and Jimmy Dludlu.
A graduate of UCT’s Jazz Performance program and a core part of South Africa’s jazz fabric, Hermans brings a cool, grounded energy to the campaign that echoes the very spirit of the Grasshopper silhouette. His debut album, “One for HP”, now streaming on all platforms, is a celebration of homegrown excellence.

The shoes speak for themselves. The “Black/Moss” colourway pairs deep black suede with a rich green moss tone with updated tooling such as a rubber rippled outsole for added grip and D ring eyelets allowing us to switch out laces to the reflective pairs on the fly further leaning into the utilitarian feel.
The “Tobacco/Wheat” offers warmth and ease with a golden finish and an updated wrap around crepe sole for a bulkier, grounded feel to the classic Grasshopper moccasins we all know and love.

Both pairs stay loyal to the heritage design, built with premium materials and updates. Both will be Priced at R1199,00 and available in UK3 to UK10 in limited quantities.
